Many times I remind myself about the sweet fruit of shabar (patience). It's the ability to hold ourselves from doing something wrong.

I think, there is a strong correlation between shabar and being forgiving. Both require our strength to resist the internal force of resentment. Do you have similar thought or experience with mine?

Hermit and Hermeticism

I'm a hermit. I can live in a total seclusion for some time. I can bear to talk to no one for days. I'm okay. I'm fine and I'm normal. I can handle of my being alone.

And people around me can be highly toxic. TOXIC. They put me down with their mouth. As if they don't consider what effect of their utterance. Will it make the target smile so sweet or tear apart their heart. Will it make the audience feel more motivated or disengaged. Will the words encourage the hearer to do more deed or will they only lead to self destruction.

The Best Thing About Blogging

People use their blog for various purpose. From sharing personal stories, promoting something, showing expertise, to earning money online. Whatever it is, what a blogger can never leave behind is a spirit to share. 

It's been two months since my disappearance from this blog. I didn't share anything. Coming back to blogging is an exclusive thing.

Some say sharing is caring. Sharing won't make you less; it even makes you more. Without any doubt, there are many things we can get from blogging. I myself feel this activity allows me  to feel more alive. Far more alive, like never before. 

The best thing about blogging is the freedom to speak and let people know what's going on in my mind. I can reach real people out there, somewhere on the planet earth. I can communicate my deepest concern without fearing of holding back. There's no need to be afraid to say what I mean.

I am an NT, an intuitive thinking person by definition. I find my mind cannot be shut down except when I sleep. There are many times in my real life when I find myself locked in a small room of holding back. I can't completely express what I really want to say. 

The person like me tends to see something objectively; it's about pros and cons that often times people get an impression of hurry. Insensible, lack of emotion, cold, uncaring, unfeeling, and the likes. Surely, I've been trying to calm myself down and "activate" my feeling side more often. 

The effort to be a "feely" makes me feel less authentic. I need to be myself, the true version of me without losing my empathy for others. I now realize that this can be achieved through an unending practice of talking and doing stuff ethically. It requires good communication skill and common sense. 

Since it's a skill, a good way of communication can be learned. And I am thankful for being me. My intuitive thinking side let me to be a quite fast learner in some areas that I am interested in. 

Now when the freedom of speaking is the best thing I have in blogging... A freedom that can't be bought by anything. It's been a kind of natural of law when somebody funded something, he will be in control over the thing he grants his fund to. Objectivity, criticism, and even truth can be shaped and adjusted to his will.

So, where's the independence? I admit that freedom is not not without borderline. Even with this free blog platform like this, I feel I still have the freedom that I need to express what I have inside.

This thinking comes after I reread David Nunan’s perspective in distinguishing a skillful writer from the unskillful one. He notes that a skillful writer spends much of his time in planning. The unskillful one spends much of his time in planning and revising. Thus, the skillful writer can write freely and produce as much as words he can ‘vomit’. 

On the other hand, the unskillful writer will frequently review what he has written and make revision. He worries about the incorrect grammar and the detail of his writing. This makes him take a longer time to finish his job than the skillful writer needs.

In the realm of a professional writer, especially content writer, the amount of words he can produce is crucial. More words means more income. Implementing free writing allows him to make long word formation that will increase his earning.

Free writing can be only practiced when someone has had sufficient knowledge about the topic he is about to write. One surest way to get it is reading some related works that available. Books, newspapers, magazines and internet are the sources of knowledge. A skillful writer will treat those various sources as a treasure.

Armed with knowledge, anyone can transform himself from the unskillful writer to be the skillful one. All he needs to do is practice. Practice makes perfect. This timeless adage always rings true. Your free style writing is really something that can get you to the top. Maybe someday, you can earn money without lots of word typed. Writing in English is Faster than Writing in Indonesian

Surely, using Microsoft Word is harder to write in Indonesian than in English. The reason is that this word processor uses only English and Spanish as its default languages. Indonesian is not included as the language that is compatible there. When you are writing in Indonesian, there are many words that are considered as typo. The word processor will automatically correct those words by changing them using standard English.

For example, if you write ‘datang’, Ms Word will process it and your typing will appear ‘dating’ on screen. Another word that is incorrectly recognized as English is ‘bisa’. You will see the word ‘bisa’ will change into ‘bias’. And the list goes on.

Of course, those false recognition will make us sick. There are no way to change the language into Indonesian. You have to correct it using word tracker and change all those words. The good point is you can change the entire words by one click.

Due to the above factor, writing in English is literally faster than writing in Indonesian. Oh, typing I mean. It makes the chance to write more article open wider. If you are a content writer, the more words you can write, the higher income you can get.
